German drone innovator Quantum Systems is gearing up to launch full-scale manufacturing of its groundbreaking modular FPV drone, the Sparta, in Ukraine—aiming to expand its drone deployment capabilities by year-end.

Still in the prototype phase, the Sparta is a VTOL-style drone featuring a sleek glider-like body, V-tail, and a rear electric rotor. What makes it unique? It can carry and launch multiple smaller FPV drones mid-flight, thanks to mounting points under each wing. That means it doubles as a reconnaissance tool and a drone “mothership”—dramatically extending the range and versatility of smaller drones on the battlefield.
